Eh sì, lasciatecelo dire e lasciateci festeggiare quelle poche volte che si incontra nel cammino qualcuno della propria terra che fa musica così lontana dagli standard soliti e che apre i propri orizzonti alle melodie sperimentali di oltre confine.

Francesco Galano, produttore e musicista talentuoso, per questo suo primo lavoro ha seminato da tempo in campi nordici, fra la folktronica dei Sigur Ros, di Efterklang, dei Mùm, e l’elettronica d’essay di Brian Eno, Mike Oldfield, il minimalismo di Nyman e Glass.

Il rislutato è sorprendente, sin dalle prime note di piano dell’esordio, The Dawn and the Embrace, estremamente malinconiche, su cui si staglia un leggiadro ritmo di glitch e noises che diventano struttura ritmica, fino all’esplosione melodica del pezzo al minuto 2.32.

Zazie Von Einem Anderen Stern; the name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, but the German “unconventional” classical pianist has produced a stunning debut album entitled ‘regen:tropfen’ (rain:drops)..
Now classical music is not my thing at all, and I mean at all, let alone one where the few vocal tracks are in German. However, this is quite astonishing.
‘regen:tropfen’ is breathtaking – I’ve used that word twice in two days and I meant it both times. From start to finish you are transported on a wholly emotive and absorbing journey, I love albums that are a complete experience and “regen:tropfen” is just that…
